"Kane physically rang the bell on February 2, 2026, at the hospital. That was the day he took his last oral chemo. We've kind of just been celebrating ever since."
"People like Kane inspire us to stay positive and appreciate what we have. And, you know, he's a warrior."
"You know, reads the lineup. But him ringing the bell, you know, you get goosebumps. I think he's a lot tougher than a lot of those hockey players in that dressing room that night."
Kane Carlin, a 5-year-old Sharks superfan, celebrated his victory over B-cell acute leukemia at a Sharks game after two years of treatment. He rang the bell marking the end of his chemotherapy on February 2, 2026. Kane's family was invited to the game after meeting Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro at cancer awareness events. Kane read the starting lineup, surprising his parents, and inspired the team with his courage. Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky praised Kane's toughness, noting he brought an incredible energy to the event.
