Springer exits with injury; Jays await MRI results
"George, it's some right side discomfort,"
"He already went for a MRI. We'll see how it comes back and see how he walks up [Tuesday], but it sucks."
"He's obviously a huge part of our lineup,"
"Glad I got him out when I did, and hopefully it didn't make anything worse, but we'll see how he is [Tuesday]."
George Springer exited Game 3 of the World Series with a right-side injury after fouling off a 95 mph fastball in the seventh inning. He grabbed the right side of his body, called for a trainer and did not remain in the game. An MRI was performed and his availability for Game 4 is uncertain pending imaging results and how he walks the following day. Ty France replaced Springer and struck out after an eight-pitch at-bat. Springer finished Game 3 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, had three hits in the first two games and was booed at Dodger Stadium.
