Flight attendant reveals the best time to use the bathroom on a plane
Briefly

On long-haul flights, the best toilet usage times are right after the first meal service and just before landing. Avoid using the restroom after the second meal, as it often coincides with peak landing time, leading to long queues. Passengers tend to flood the lavatory after eating or when the landing announcement is made. The back toilet of the plane is generally less crowded than the front. Frequent restroom use before boarding can also alleviate in-flight discomfort.
It's best to not go to the loo after the second meal, like most people tend to do, as it usually happens 60 to 90 minutes before landing, meaning there's a risk of long queues and the chance you might not be able to go at all before the seatbelt sign comes back on.
Instead, it is recommended to use the lavatory right after the first meal service as most passengers will be occupied watching films or sleeping.
Head for the toilet at the back of the plane if you don't want to queue; bathrooms that are more visible tend to have longer lines as people gravitate towards them.
Using the bathroom as many times as possible before boarding the plane will also help manage restroom needs during the flight.
