A tragic car accident in Newbridge, Co Kildare, has left a community in shock after a teenager died at the scene. Local councillor Peggy O'Dwyer, who lives close to where the crash happened, said the community is in a state of shock. "I want to express my sincere condolences to the family of the young man who tragically lost his life. It's terribly sad news," she said.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.45pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí," said a spokesperson.
