Three men from New York City—Alan Christhofer Cedeno-Ferrer, Michael Mejia-Nuniz, and Ennait Alexis Sirett-Padilla—were indicted for robbing a delivery truck outside the Americana Manhasset mall in Nassau County. The defendants, all born and raised in the Dominican Republic and in the U.S. illegally, are charged with Hobbs Act robbery and conspiracy involving interstate commerce and stolen property transportation. Armed with handguns and wearing masks, the trio hijacked the truck while two workers were delivering Apple products. They forced one worker into the truck bed, zip-tied his hands, and forced the other to drive to a secluded parking lot. The stolen merchandise exceeded $1.2 million in Apple devices including MacBooks, iPhones, and accessories. Federal prosecutors requested the defendants remain in custody pending trial, citing their illegal immigration status as a flight risk.
