Woman fatally stabbed protecting beau during wild NYC nightclub brawl: 'She got in the middle'
"They were fighting, and they were all outside,"
"[The victim] came out with her husband, then the other guys came out, too"
"That's when the two groups got into a fight,"
"She got in the middle so they wouldn't get to her husband, and that's when she got stabbed."
Shortly after 4 a.m., a large fight erupted outside the Mama Dora club on East Kingsbridge Road as the bar emptied. Two groups clashed and one man was knocked to the ground. A 35-year-old woman intervened to protect the man, identified locally as her husband, and was stabbed with a broken bottle during the melee. Surveillance footage captured a man in a yellow jacket lunging forward and stabbing her before accomplices whisked him away. Witnesses reported shattered glass and a hair extension left on the sidewalk. The victim was taken to BronxCare and then Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.
