Israeli settlers attacked CNN journalists in the occupied West Bank while they were reporting on the death of Palestinian American Sayfollah Musallet. The journalists, including Jeremy Diamond, experienced an ambush as masked settlers tried to pelt their vehicle and smashed the windshield. On the same day, settlers killed Musallet and shot another Palestinian, Mohammad al-Shalabi, while preventing ambulances from reaching them for hours. The presence of settlers restricted movement for Palestinians, forcing shops to close and hindering access to homes.
At an intersection, the settlers get out and try to pelt our vehicle. We manage to approach a nearby Israeli border police vehicle, and the settlers turn around. But minutes after the border police headed out to search for the settlers, we were ambushed.
The masked men smashed the rear windshield of our car, but we managed to speed off unharmed. It is just a small window into the reality here.
