Nintendo Is Ending The Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Program
Briefly

The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher program will be discontinued permanently on January 30, 2026. The initiative allowed owners to pre-pay for two games for $100 instead of $120. An official statement confirmed that after the discontinuation date, purchasing vouchers would no longer be possible. However, any vouchers bought prior to the end date would be redeemable for 12 months post-purchase. Vouchers acquired through this program cannot be used for games on the Nintendo Switch 2, and there is currently no replacement program for the new console.
The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher initiative allowed Switch owners to essentially pre-pay for two Nintendo Switch games through the purchase of two Game Vouchers; the vouchers cost $100, while two games purchased separately would normally cost $120.
As of 11:59 PM Pacific Time January 30, 2026, it will no longer be possible to purchase Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers.
Game vouchers remain valid for 12 months from purchase; for example, if a set of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers is purchased on January 30, 2026, each voucher remains valid until January 30, 2027.
Nintendo confirmed that vouchers purchased through the program would not be able to purchase games for Nintendo Switch 2.
