The launch of the Switch 2 brings substantial improvements to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, previously hindered by the original console's limitations. The game now operates at 60 frames per second, resulting in enhanced visuals, smoother gameplay, and more Pokémon spawning on screen. This optimization primarily benefits players engaged in shiny hunting, as the increased Pokémon density reduces the need for map reloads when searching for rare shinies. Although shiny hunting remains repetitive, the visual upgrades make the experience much more enjoyable for players.
Plenty of existing Nintendo games are getting an upgrade for Switch 2, but few of them are benefitting nearly as much as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Now that the Switch 2 is here, things are looking much better, literally. That's good news for anyone who likes hunting for Pokémon with special coloring, otherwise known as shinies.
Optimized and now runs at 60 frames per second. This means maps with more visible terrain and less pop-in, smoother movement that doesn't grind to a halt.
More Pokémon means less reloading the map and more chances to find a shiny.
