The new kindergarten and daycare center in Kiens, designed by Roland Baldi Architects, replaces an older building with a modern, two-storey timber structure. It accommodates two groups, serving up to 20 children while emphasizing light-filled spaces and interaction with nature. Key features include a spirited children's canteen and a zigzag ramp for accessibility. The design, with its reddish-brown façade inspired by the church tower, integrates harmoniously into the landscape. Positioned as a sustainable building, it meets the Klimahaus/CasaClima A standard and incorporates technologies like air-to-water heat pumps and a green roof with photovoltaic modules to promote environmental responsibility.
