The GATE M West Bund Dream Center repurposes the former Shanghai Cement Factory site into an 80,000-square-meter cultural destination. This site previously contained industrial relics including silos and unfinished commercial structures. MVRDV implemented adaptive reuse by retaining industrial elements while integrating modern features. Key constructions include the M Factory, a repurposed shed that houses a food market and cultural hall, and a silo turned into a climbing center. Bright orange circulation elements contrast with the concrete textures, signaling access points and enhancing the site's identity.
