This 80-Year-Old English Bungalow Is the Blueprint in "Pattern Clashing"
Briefly

Kirsty Tallowin's home is a renovated 1940s bungalow in a picturesque Norfolk village. Originally described as modern and lacking character, the home has been transformed into a cozy retreat filled with patterns, vintage finds, and textures. Kirsty and her family have owned the property for seven years, during which they fully renovated and extended it, creating an open-plan kitchen and diner, and enhancing the bedrooms. The primary bedroom, decorated with dainty wallpaper and layered patterns, is highlighted as her favorite space, offering a serene connection to the garden.
Kirsty describes the home when they first moved in as "modern, not loved, no color or character." The original state wasn't going to work for her design vision.
Since moving in, we've fully renovated and extended the property. We added a new living room and utility room, reconfigured the original kitchen and lounge into an open-plan kitchen and diner, and extended all three bedrooms.
Kirsty's favorite room is the primary bedroom. The dainty wallpaper, layered patterns, and vintage textures create a cozy retreat.
On warm days, I open the French doors to the garden and feel as though I've stepped into a meadow.
