Jack Driessen persuaded his friend Nate van der Ende to help him design a two-bedroom apartment on Manhattan's Lower East Side, despite van der Ende's initial reluctance. As they collaborated on updating the apartment's neglected bathroom, van der Ende discovered a newfound passion for interior design. This project uncovered his hidden talents and aligned with his love for transformative spaces. Driessen's trust and encouragement were pivotal in guiding van der Ende toward his creative potential, marking a significant turning point in his career.
"As soon as we got started, I thought, I'm obsessed with this. This is what I need to be doing. It was as if this light bulb went off: Why haven't I been doing this my whole life?"
"The bottom notes of the ask were: 'I'm super scared, you're a close compatriot, and I trust you,' said Driessen. Any and all success I've ever had in my own career is because of people taking risks on me."
