34-year-old Shibritney Colbert has been arrested and charged after verbally attacking a gay man and then abusing him with his own cart in a Virginia grocery store. According to a statement from the Alexandria Police Department (APD), Colbert "pushed the victim and threw groceries while making derogatory statements. A 911 call was placed reporting a fight inside the store, and Alexandria Police officers responded immediately. As officers attempted to detain the suspect in the parking lot, she fled in her vehicle." Colbert has since been charged with felony eluding, assault and battery, destruction of property, and driving an unregistered vehicle. Police also say they believe she targeted the victim due to his sexual orientation, which is clear in the comments she hurled at him in the viral TikTok video of the incident. The case is currently "being evaluated" for the potential of adding hate crime charges, police said.
A man was arrested Saturday after a fight during a Bruins game at TD Garden that led to another man being hospitalized with a head injury, police said. The man arrested, identified by police as Aaron Tucker, 49, is set to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court Monday on charges of assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and assault and battery against a 60+ or disabled victim, according to a Boston police report.
The woman allegedly pushed another woman onto the Green Line tracks in an "unprovoked" attack, The Boston Globe reported. Nyleamah Kinsey, 50, was charged with assault and battery of a person over 60 and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. Kinsey reportedly followed the victim, who is from Revere, into the station, before pushing her with both hands onto the tracks.
According to the charges and investigation, on the morning of Friday, Oct. 20, at around 3:30 a.m., Ortega was driving a BMW sedan and stopped his car in front of 40-06 Astoria Blvd. near Williams and two other men. Williams approached the BMW and engaged Ortega in a conversation. Ortega got out of his BMW and continued speaking with Williams and his co-defendant, with whom the victim had a brief verbal dispute before Ortega drove away.
The same-sex couple told police they were walking down River Street shortly before 8 p.m. on Sept. 13 when a group of people allegedly "began making anti-homosexual remarks towards them," per a police report obtained by Boston.com. A fight ensued, and one of the men in the couple was reportedly struck in the head with a baseball bat. The incident sparked outrage among community members, as well as messages of condemnation from several local leaders.
