The Spa Valley Railway is seeking to attract more passengers amid rising operational costs, including utility bills and maintenance of historic steam locomotives.

The ongoing repairs on the lower level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, involving significant asphalt removal and concrete repairs, are projected to conclude before early July.

Caltrans crews discovered unsound concrete breaking apart on the upper deck, prompting immediate emergency repairs and lane closures on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

A spokesperson for Network Rail stated, 'We need to strengthen and repair the crash beam on the bridge at St Mildred's Road, and to do this we need to remove and then replace it. To do this, we must use two large cranes and close the road so that we can operate them safely.' This highlights the necessity of the repairs for public safety.
