The Black Cap pub in Camden has reopened after a £2 million restoration, preserving its historical significance and vibrant LGBTQ+ culture.
Camden's legendary gay pub, The Black Cap, has confirmed its reopening date, a smidge over a decade since it was forced to close. The pub, which has been a gay haunt since the winter of 1965/66 was forced to close in 2015 when the owners decided they wanted to redevelop the site. The owners themselves closed in 2020, and the company's administrators sold the building to a new owner who has been working to reopen the venue once again as a gay cabaret pub.

London saw more than 440,000 fly-tipping incidents in the year 2023/24, with 50 incidents per every 1,000 residents more than double the English average. Thames Water has confirmed the incident in Plender Street this afternoon (July 6). As a result of the incident, tap water flow has been impacted, with some properties experiencing low water pressure or no water at all.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were in pursuit of a vehicle shortly after 2.30am this morning along Hampstead Road. During the chase, the vehicle was involved in a crash with a bus and lorry.
