As we mentioned in our review, these hot, bite-sized treats "look like an egg roll from the outside, which is fine." Although more importantly, surpassing the advertised cheesecake, this dessert delivers "just mouthfuls of crisp breading," with any filling therein distributed unevenly or (as was our experience) stuffed into one end of the log: "This dessert is mainly the crispy roll with a nominal amount of tangy cheesecake filling and even less caramel."
The fast food chain is offering some of its best selling tacos at a discount through Feb. 9 when it sells two Grilled Chicken Tacos for $3. The tacos are pretty hefty for a fast a food spot too as they're made with grilled, marinated chicken, topped with Del Taco's secret sauce, a bunch of shredded lettuce and house-grated cheddar wrapped up in a flour tortilla.
Rather than simply flavoring its milkshake with a strawberry extract or powder, Del Taco includes actual chunks of strawberry in the beverage. As noted on its website, its real strawberry milkshake consists of its vanilla shake and real strawberry topping, which is made up of strawberries, sugar, modified corn starch, red coloring, and cellulose gum, the latter of which is a commonly-used thickener.
If you'd like a snack that's easy on your wallet, Del Taco might have what you're looking for. The Lake Forest chain's new Micro Meal includes a miniature version of its Beef and Cheddar Burrito, seven to 10 crinkle-cut fries and a single Donut Bite for $2.99, according to a news release. This is one of the cheapest combos from a major fast food chain to date, albeit one of the smallest.
Available nationwide through Nov. 11, the menu features grilled marinated chicken dishes, a new Salsa Roja and the return of the spicy jack cheese and a sweet drink. Some of the highlights include the Del Dorado Chicken Epic Burrito, a hefty burrito with Salsa Roja plus the Del Dorado Chicken Taco, which is topped with guacamole, shredded cabbage and spicy jack cheese.
