F1 may revert to traditional V8 engines by 2030, according to FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem at the Miami GP.
EA Sports has announced that its F1 racing series is undergoing a "strategic reset" and will skip a new release in 2026 before returning in 2027 for a "new and more expansive F1 experience." In lieu of a brand-new release for F1 in 2026, EA Sports and developer Codemasters are releasing a paid expansion for F1 25 that includes new cars, teams, drivers, and more.
It means every car will be fitted with heat-reduction systems including cooling vests although it's not mandatory for drivers to wear them during the race. Mercedes driver George Russell said: Not everybody finds the top comfortable but the concept is good, and when you're racing in 90% humidity and the cockpits are getting on for 60C, it's a bit of a sauna inside the car, so I think we all welcome it.
