A cross-border investigation by members of the Eurovision News Spotlight, including DW Fact check, has uncovered that the State of Israel has used its Government Advertising Agencyto run paid international campaigns aimed at shaping public opinion in parts of Europe and North America. For at least a year, an Israeli YouTube accounthas been running ad campaigns that discredit UN agencies and challenge the findings of internationally recognized watchdogs.

We feel frustrated and helpless - but as an artist, I feel I have a responsibility to move people to act with generosity. I'm hoping the sculpture I created will move people even a little bit and might, in this case, encourage them to make a contribution towards saving Gaza from further starvation and desolation.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has been expelled from Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory in East Jerusalem, and continues to suffer the consequences of a virulent disinformation campaign launched by the Israeli state: it has lost a third of its funding in the midst of war, 90% of its facilities have been partially or completely destroyed, and more than 360 of its 12,000 staff members have died under the bombardments.

Let's be clear: President Trump has the power to end the starvation of the Palestinian people, Vermont's politically independent senator Bernie Sanders posted on X. Instead he is doing nothing while watching this famine unfold. Enough is enough. No more American taxpayer dollars to Nethanyahu's [sic] war machine. Sanders, who also pushed resolutions to ban selling US weapons to Israel, has long been consistent about his concern regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid the war.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) system said 514,000 people - close to a quarter of Palestinians in Gaza - are experiencing famine, with the number due to rise to 641,000 by the end of September. Some 280,000 of those people are in a northern region covering Gaza City - known as Gaza governorate - which the IPC said was in famine following nearly two years of war between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas.
