Super7 has announced action figures of hip hop greats De La Soul. Their new ReAction Figures are inspired by the group's video for "Me Myself and I," with Posdnuos, Maseo, and the late Trugoy the Dove dressed as they appear in it, and each stand 3.75″ tall, with multiple points of articulation. The newly added performances for 'Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story The Las Vegas Residency' will take place August 28th through September 6th, along with another run from October 23rd through October 31st.

Less than one year after his unforgettable Super Bowl performance, Kendrick Lamar is spending his Sunday at the 2026 Grammys and the " Luther " rapper has a lot to celebrate. He started the night with four wins, making him the most decorated rapper in the show's history. "Hip-hop is gonna always be right here. We're gonna be in these suits, we're gonna be looking good, we're gonna be having our folks with us, we're gonna be having our culture with us," Lamar stated as he accepted his fourth Grammy of the night for Best Rap Album. "So I appreciate y'all."

2026 continues to get off to an exciting start musically, and this week gave us the first Arctic Monkeys song in four years plus album announcements from Courtney Barnett, James Blake, Snail Mail, and a handful of others. We talked about all that and more on today's episode of BV Weekly, on which we also talked about last week's A$AP Rocky album, Pitchfork's new user reviews, and more.

For all the conspicuously expensive samples, the breathless reporting about a $3 million record deal, the Vogue shoots, the white women muttering slurs, the Spike Lee movies, the guns, the kids, the feuds with superstars, and the overtures from a president, A$AP Rocky has always been best when stripped down to core principles. The invocations of Houston rap on "Purple Swag" are secondary to how deliberate and direct Rocky is; this was true of " Peso," of " Goldie," of everything that made him click.

Not only does the track show off Anjimile's lush, patient vocals, it's got a pretty fascinating rhythmic structure; his drummer offsets the groove when they arrive at the chorus, almost like the song gets caught between moving too fast and too slow. That momentum really ramps up in the final refrain, complete with some guitar shredding and open hi-hat smashing. It's a great demonstration of Anjimile's tasteful ear and his ability to match a song's subject with its instrumentation.
