On the short week coming off the Dolphins' stunning 34-10 win against the Atlanta Falcons, Chubb first surfaced on the Monday injury report with the two ailments after making it through the game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. On Tuesday, both Chubb and coach Mike McDaniel said they expected him to be ready to play. "I'm very confident, unless there's a setback, that he'll be playing," McDaniel said. "He has given me zero indication that he wouldn't." "I'll be good," Chubb added. "It is just one of those things, you got a short week, things flare up from the game before, you just want to make sure you get on it and correct it."
Pacheco also missed a chunk of last season when he fractured his fibula in a game against Cincinnati. "We'll just see. He's moving around. But tough kid," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Wednesday. "There was a point where he wanted to go back in [Monday] and I wouldn't let him. That's how he's wired. You have to cut his legs off to stop him."
ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will play Sunday after missing one game because of a hamstring injury, coach Dan Quinn said. Washington (3-5) has lost three consecutive games entering Sunday's game against Seattle (5-2). The Commanders have been hit hard with injuries this season and won't have receiver Terry McLaurin, who will miss his fifth game with a quad injury.
ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks were down three starters as they faced the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder without Jalen Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis and Zaccharie Risacher. Porzingis (flu-like symptoms) and Risacher (right ankle sprain) did not play during Atlanta's 111-107 win in Orlando on Friday night. Porzingis was listed as questionable earlier on Saturday before being downgraded to out for his second straight game.
Eagles standout wide receiver A.J. Brown has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury. Brown finished last week's game against the Minnesota Vikings and sealed the 28-22 win with a 45-yard reception from Jalen Hurts on a third-and-9 with 1:45 remaining. He caught four passes for a season-high 121 yards and two touchdowns. But he was sidelined from all three of the Eagles' practices this week.
"Medically, they feel like it's just not, [Rapp's] not in a spot where he can actually play at a level where we can function to do the job," McDermott said. "But give TRapp credit, man, he's gutted it out for the better part of six-plus weeks having hurt it in training camp when he did was really probably 14 or so days into training camp. So, he's just a warrior that way and got to a point where just couldn't do it anymore. So, that's where we're at."
Diggs missed last week's game against the Washington Commanders due to suffering a concussion at his home. The former second-round pick hasn't has the best luck staying on the field over the last couple of seasons. He missed 15 games in 2023 after tearing his ACL, and another six last season because of an issue in the same knee that required surgery.
Milwaukee opened its season with a home win over the Washington Wizards - and it came with some added drama. Former Buck Khris Middleton, now a Wizard after being dealt for Kyle Kuzma, made sure his old team didn't forget him, dropping 23 points in his Fiserv Forum return. Kuzma managed just 12 points in response, but Milwaukee got the last laugh with a victory. As usual, Giannis Antetokounmpo powered the Bucks, putting up a monster 37 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The Bears make their second trip east in ACC play, having won 28-24 at Boston College on Sept. 27. They are coming off a 21-18 home victory vs. North Carolina, but they are just 2-2 since a 3-0 start. ... A win would put Cal two games over .500 in conference play for the first time since opening 2-0 in the Pac-12 in 2015.
West Ham United have been handed a timely fitness boost ahead of their clash with Leeds United. The Hammers are still searching for their first win under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, after the former Nottingham Forest head coach took over the reins from Graham Potter. A draw with Everton began his tenure, before back-to-back losses against Arsenal and Brentford have since followed, with a huge clash against the Whites to come on Friday.
"Still the same," Knicks coach Mike Brown told reporters after practice on Tuesday. "Neither one practiced today, but we're going to keep monitoring them, and I'll get with the medical staff and we'll see what we're going to do."
CLEVELAND - Miami Dolphins linebacker Tyrel Dodson cleared concussion protocol and will be available for Sunday's game against the Browns in Cleveland. The Dolphins, as they traveled Saturday, removed Dodson from the team's injury report. Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday he was "hopeful and confident" Dodson would clear the NFL's five-step protocol to return to play from a concussion before the game, but Friday came and went without such a development. Miami's middle linebacker suffered the concussion in the Oct. 5 loss to the Carolina Panthers and missed last week's home defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers.
There are a few irreplaceable players on New England's current roster - like quarterback Drake Maye, left tackle Will Campbell and cornerback Christian Gonzalez - and Landry is near the top of that list. He's been a mainstay on the field in Vrabel's defense, already logging 300 snaps (fourth-most on the team, per Pro Football Focus); he leads the Patriots in both QB pressures (25) and sacks (4.5) through six games.
Wide receiver Jalen Coker will be active for the first time this season when the Carolina Panthers face the New York Jets on Sunday in the Meadowlands. Coker missed the first six games with a hamstring injury. He was designated in August to replace Adam Thielen as the third starter behind Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette after the veteran was traded to the Minnesota Vikings.
"I wouldn't mind [staying in Dallas]," Pickens said Wednesday, via Tommy Yarrish of the team website. "The guys in the locker room are super cool; the energy's great. But like I said, I always want to showcase my talents."
TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. and running back Bucky Irving when they face the Detroit Lions next week in a "Monday Night Football" clash between two of the NFC's top teams. "Chris is not in play to practice, so I'm sure he won't be back," Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Monday, adding that the same is true for Irving.

PITTSBURGH -- The Steelers defense will get a boost from at least two starters returning from injury for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns - and one more could be available, too. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who hasn't played since injuring his hamstring in the Week 1 win against the Jets, is off the injury report, as is pass rusher Alex Highsmith, who sprained his ankle in Week 2.
