Celebrations in Lebanon have erupted as a 10-day ceasefire takes effect, creating an opportunity for discussions between Israeli and Lebanese officials regarding a long-term agreement.

Residents in Lebanon are closely monitoring the U.S.-Iran situation, fearing that if talks collapse, the temporary ceasefire with Hezbollah will also end, prolonging their suffering.

Washington's military objectives have shifted significantly, moving from a focus on regime change to merely claiming success in its operations against Iran.

"If Iran gives a draft proposal, the U.S. is ready to meet in Geneva on Friday in order to start detailed negotiations to see if we can get a nuclear deal," a senior U.S. official said. The official confirmed the Trump administration and Iran may also discuss the possibility of an interim agreement before a full nuclear deal is agreed.
