Real Madrid have not ruled out signing a midfielder in the final days of the transfer window amid the possibility of sending Dani Ceballos to Marseille, a source told ESPN. The two deals are connected because Xabi Alonso does not want to let a player go without first having a replacement, and ESPN sources admit that Madrid and Marseille are already negotiating a transfer or a loan with an obligation of a permanent move.
Swansea City have signed Nottingham Forest midfielder Marko Stamenic for an undisclosed fee which is believed to be more than 2m. The New Zealand international, 23, has agreed a four-year deal with the option of a further 12 months at the Championship club having spent last season on loan at Greek side Olympiacos. Stamenic leaves Forest without making a competitive appearance for the Premier League club. He moved to the City Ground from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2024 but spent last season on loan at Greek side Olympiacos.
