The MLB playoffs are just around the corner and shaping up to be a wide-open affair. For the second consecutive season, there is not a single team on pace to win 100 or more games. That means there is plenty of parity across the majors, which is bound to carry over to October.

No team has secured a postseason berth or even clinched a division, though a number of contenders have more than a 99% chance of making the playoffs. But races that seemed as if they might be over at the end of August are heating up again.
The Blue Jays are leading their divisional rivals as the baseball season enters its final regular-season stretch, giving the team a chance to claim a leading playoff spot for the first time in a decade. But there's still a lot of baseball to play, and the team will have to fight their way through 34 more games before the playoffs begin.
