Tourists lean out windows to snap pictures of the steady stream of melting snow tumbling over a small band of cliffs onto the road ringed by towering high alpine peaks and even bigger waterfalls.

We're managing over 126,000 acres of parkland, with our 73 parks. Just to put that into some perspective, that is the equivalent, in terms of geographical size, of the state of Rhode Island.

Don't expect solitude. If that's the goal, be willing to research and hike farther out.
