Jackson Dwyer, 28, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of assault and battery on a family or household member, strangulation or suffocation, and witness intimidation. His lawyer, David Zirlen, said the woman 'already has recanted' the allegations behind all three charges.

Police believe that the officer was driving the Jeep westbound on Route 139 "at a high rate of speed and passed a tow truck by crossing over solid double yellow lines into the eastbound lane," according to the preliminary investigation. "The Jeep then attempted to pass a second vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra, again crossing the solid double yellow lines, and struck an eastbound Honda Civic head-on."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Folds of Honor Founder Lt. Colonel Dan Rooney met with the Islam family inside the 47th Precinct and presented 7-year-old Ahyan Islam and 5-year-old Azhaan Islam with fully paid scholarships for their academic lives. According to Goodell, the scholarship was a token of appreciation for their father's service and ultimate sacrifice. Islam was working a paid security detail shift inside of 345 Park Ave., where the NFL offices are housed,

"He left us a note that said, 'I can't take this anymore. LASIK took everything from me.' That's the note that we got left."

"It's like they are killing my mom again," she said, expressing her frustration over the struggle to gain recognition and benefits for her deceased mother.
