Deer Valley is undergoing a significant expansion, doubling its skiable acreage and adding new hotels, shops, and amenities.
Anyone who visits Japan, whether it's just for sightseeing or for skiing/snowboarding, needs to do some karaoke. In the U.S., most karaoke is done in a bar with everyone watching. In Japan, most karaoke is done in private rooms for just you and your friends. It really takes things to the next level. Skiers and snowboarders at Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort in Japan don't need to go far out of their way to get some karaoke in.
I've checked in at a few of the group's lauded hotels over my decade-plus time living in France, but the Alpine locale has long been on my bucket list. Courchevel, the ritzy ski resort in France's Les 3 Vallées-the world's largest interconnected ski area-lives up to its reputation of "Saint-Tropez in the snow." Here, you'll recognize some of the same restaurants (Kinugawa, Bagatelle) and hotels that line the cobblestone streets of the famous French Riviera town.
Like its predecessor, Club Med Tremblant will be an all-inclusive resort geared towards skiers, with a location in the Laurentian Mountains. The overall vibe, according to Club Med's announcement, will include an evocation of "a contemporary Alpine Chalet," complete with a "[s]ki-in and ski-out experience." While the resort is slated to open in December of 2028, it isn't a seasonal operation: visitors booking stays in the summer will have a range of options on hand, including hiking and various aquatic activities.

New out of the French Alps broke on Tuesday that Compagnie des Alpes will continue running La Plagne, one of the world's largest ski resort, after local authorities selected its bid for a new 25-year operating contract. The decision, announced November 25, follows a competitive tender process overseen by the Syndicat Intercommunal de la Grande Plagne, the public entity that manages the resort. The agreement gives the company's subsidiary, Société d'Aménagement de La Plagne, responsibility for the ski area through 2052.
Every lift ticket purchase in America requires a liability waiver that must be signed. This document typically absolves the resort of responsibility for injuries or accidents occurring on its property. Resorts can pay up to $3 million for liability policies. After the Colorado Supreme Court agreed to hear a petition from a snowboarder named John Litterer, the critical question now is: "To what extent does this liability waiver truly protect the resort?"
"The design of Hotel Marina Riviera was inspired by a deep respect for the property's original 1968 architecture and its stunning alpine setting along Big Bear Lake," Sana Keefer, Casetta's head of brand, stated. "We wanted to preserve the soul of the building, including its Viking-inspired structure and midcentury character, while thoughtfully updating it for the modern traveler. The refresh draws inspiration from Big Bear's après-ski history, classic roadside lodges, and the timeless appeal of mountain getaways, all viewed through a contemporary lens."
