Reform UK won major local election gains, overturning decades of Labour control in Sunderland and other Labour strongholds.
Sunderland defender Dan Ballard was awarded a straight red card for pulling the hair of Wolves' Tolu Arokodare when the two sides played a 1-1 draw at the Molineux on Saturday.
"Ever since I didn't go across the water at 16 and worked my way through the Irish League with Ballymena and Linfield, I think it's been a whirlwind of a journey. In the last five years, I've went from the Irish League to the Premier League. When you think of it that way, it sounds a bit crazy, but it's just part of the journey that I've been on."
What made it all the more special was that 18 months earlier, I looked to be on my way out of the club when Paolo Di Canio was there. He'd banished me and one or two others from the training ground. Don't get me wrong, some of his coaching sessions were enjoyable but there are ways and means of managing experienced pros and some of his man-management left a lot to be desired.
But what has lived on that day is not the Dutchman's performance in the win, but his celebration following Gyan's goal, as Zenden unleashed a bona fide 'dad dance' next to the fleet-footed Ghanaian.
