Amazon will cut 769 Bay Area jobs across Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, East Palo Alto, Mountain View, and San Francisco, with layoffs effective April 28.
SAN JOSE Western Digital Technologies eliminated just under 100 jobs in the Bay Area, according to a WARN notice the tech firm filed with the state Employment Development Department. The data storage company cut 87 jobs at its head offices at 5601 Great Oaks Parkway in South San Jose, according to the notice. The layoffs took place on Jan. 20, the WARN letter revealed.
Seattle-based e-bike giant Rad Power Bikes has filed official notice to Washington State as well as the company's 64 Washington employees that the company could end operations "as early as January 2026." A Nov. 7 filing with the state ( PDF) warns both service-level workers at the company's retail and repair shop as well as corporate workers at its Seattle headquarters that layoffs could start as early as Jan. 9, 2026.
SAN LEANDRO - The shutdown of 21st Amendment Brewery, a Bay Area craft beer leader, will erase dozens of jobs in the Bay Area, affecting workers in two cities in the region, according to an official state government filing. The brewery intends to eliminate a total of 76 jobs in the Bay Area, the company stated in a WARN notice it filed with the state Employment Development Department.
The retailer said it will eliminate 87 jobs at its 3112 Santa Rita Rd. neighborhood market store, according to a WARN notice the company sent to the state Employment Development Department. The store will close to the public on October 3, 2025, Walmart area manager Amarit Juttla stated in the WARN letter. The entire facility will close. The anticipated date when the layoffs would occur is Dec. 12.
