Carl Crowther, one of Nora's owners, wrote on Facebook on Wednesday evening: We are delighted to announce that she was returned home safe and well. Obviously we are over the moon with this outcome. Crowther had previously said a large part of the family's distress was due to Nora having a heart murmur that required medication. He said they are not going into details regarding her return due to ongoing investigations but he thanked people who had shared his posts or helped in any way, who he said included neighbours, strangers and his local councillors.
The West Yorkshire combined authority (WYCA) said its mass transit scheme, including new tram lines connecting Leeds and Bradford, would now be completed in the late 2030s. West Yorkshire's mayor, Tracy Brabin, said she was fully confident that she would be driving this tram by the end of the next decade, despite fears that the delay could lead to the whole scheme being cancelled.
