The stories that stood out to me were ones where the writers knew what to do with a quiet ordinary moment. We often think writing should start with a boom, like bright explosive fireworks seen in the dark sky... The mark of a good writer, at any age, is one that knows what to do with the ordinary moment. And these six certainly do.
