Tracey pleaded guilty to careless driving causing death and received a 20-month sentence in 2014 at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Tracey was disqualified from driving for 20 years. Tracey's driving licence has been scheduled for restoration in mid-2027. Conor Hickey's family and the gardaí are opposed to the restoration of Tracey's driving licence.
