Hybrid working arrangements have gained popularity across all generations, particularly among younger workers. A Gallup report found that Gen Z employees prefer hybrid work, with 71% favoring such arrangements. While remote work remains a choice, the survey showed that younger workers value time spent in the office. Today, over half of American remote-capable workers are hybrid, with 28% working exclusively remotely and 21% fully on-site. The demand for regular office attendance increases as organizations prioritize in-person work, yet only 51% of employees attend the office that frequently.
During the pandemic, people learned about a lot of autonomy. They learned they could do their work differently, and they're given the freedom to do it.
Hybrid work is the most popular across generations, ranging from the top choice for 54% of boomers to the top choice of 71% of Gen Z employees.
