A teenage male has been arrested following a stabbing incident aboard a Muni light rail train in San Franciscoâs Bayview neighborhood. The attack occurred around 5:41 p.m., leaving a woman critically injured. Witnesses reported seeing two individuals flee the scene, prompting a police chase that ended in their detention. The arrested minor now faces serious charges, including attempted murder. In light of an ongoing series of similar stabbings in the transit system, Muni officials are working to enhance safety measures, convinced of the necessity to prevent future crimes.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a woman with life-threatening stab wounds. Witnesses told police that two people connected to the stabbing ran west on Carroll Avenue.
The minor who was arrested was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center in San Francisco and is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
