The San Jose Police Department arrested suspects in three gang-motivated crimes last week, including a shooting, robbery, and a violent attack. Investigators discovered gang-related evidence during the investigations. On June 18, suspects fired shots at victims near Martin Park. Two suspects, ages 21 and 17 with documented gang ties, were later arrested and charged with crimes related to the shooting. The second incident involved suspects robbing a man, making gang-related comments, with four men later identified as suspects.
The San Jose Police Department made arrests in three separate gang-motivated crimes last week, including a shooting, a robbery and a violent attack, authorities said Thursday.
Investigators believe that all three incidents were gang-related, with officers locating gang indicia and discovering alleged gang-related comments in the course of some of the crimes, according to press releases from the SJPD.
The shooting occurred near Forestdale Avenue and Jeanne Avenue, an area that is surrounded by residential neighborhoods, authorities added. Police did not say if anybody was wounded.
During the execution of search warrants, authorities found a firearm, live ammunition and gang indicia. The 21-year-old was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail and the 17-year-old was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of committing the gang-motivated shooting and firearm-related crimes.
