"A Tube fare dodger kicked a commuter in the head and left him with a bleed on the brain after being told off for barging through a ticket barrier. Violent thug Rikki Holmes, 33, was with a friend travelling up an escalator at London Bridge station. But when he sped up and attempted to bump the exit without paying, victim Ian McQueen grabbed Holmes' collar, causing him to stumble as they exchanged heated words."
"He punched Mr McQueen in the face causing him to fall backwards and strike his head on the station floor at around 12.50am on August 20, 2023. Holmes then approached Mr McQueen as he lay motionless before again punching and kicking him in the face. The attacker and his friend then both fled. Transport for London staff alerted police and paramedics rushed to the scene."
"On searching his address, he was further arrested after cannabis, a baton and a pair of nunchucks were found. Officers seized Holmes' phone and discovered several messages with another person in which they told Holmes his picture was everywhere referring to the news coverage. At Inner London Crown Court last Thursday, he was sentenced to three years and five months' imprisonment after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and having Class B drug."
Ian McQueen confronted Rikki Holmes after Holmes attempted to bypass a ticket barrier at London Bridge. Holmes punched McQueen, who fell, struck his head and was then repeatedly kicked and punched while motionless. McQueen was hospitalized with a bleed on the brain, a fractured jaw, a broken nose, a fractured rib and two collapsed lungs. Police executed a warrant at Holmes' home and found cannabis, a baton and nunchucks; messages on his phone referenced media exposure. Holmes was convicted of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a Class B drug and was jailed for three years and five months.
