Breaking things, battle scars, design superhumans, improving design critiques
Briefly

Automation is increasingly dictating the pace of design, pushing out creators who value craftsmanship and intentionality. The traditional methods, akin to artisanship, are overshadowed by brands competing for speed and low costs, leading to a homogenization of products. Despite this trend, some creators continue to practice their trade with care, resisting the urge to give in to automation. Additionally, self-censorship in communication is seen as beneficial for fostering a supportive environment, while misconceptions about passion and work persist, presenting challenges for young people entering the workforce. Rapid scaling within organizations can lead to systemic breakdowns.
What happens whenyour only future is being replaced? When the "user experience" we're designing for is no longer human, but machines talking to machines?
It's getting harder to imagine a world that values craft. Everything must be done faster, cheaper, and at scale.
Brands blur together. The few who choose to create with care and intention often fade into the background, priced out by automation.
Of course, everything breaks when you scale that quickly: how to communicate as a company, the reporting structures, how to ship product, how to manage and organize people.
