BOGOTÁ -- A private plane crashed Saturday in central-eastern Colombia, killing all six people on board, including singer Yeison Jiménez, authorities confirmed. The aircraft, registered as N325FA, crashed in the Paipa and Duitama area in the department of Boyacá, the Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement. It was headed to Medellín.
The helicopter had taken a patient to a hospital and was on the way back to the place it had been dispatched from when it experienced an in-air emergency just after 7 p.m., said Captain Justin Sylvia, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Fire Department. A pilot, nurse and paramedic were taken to hospitals and were in critical condition, he said. No one on the highway was injured, he said, calling that mind blowing given that the helicopter crashed in the center of the highway.
Emma, 40, from Liverpool, expressed her ongoing distress about the incident, stating, "I've been feeling awful ever since I can't stop thinking about him. It happened directly behind our right shoulders."
