Prosecutors allege that he used a seven-inch baton to beat a woman in the head on Oct. 13, 2024 at the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station. The woman told police that her attacker had been yelling derogatory things to other women present at the station, and had said, f you b-, shortly before hitting her. She went unconscious, causing a concussion and a brain injury, according to police.
A computer equipment problem early Friday through the commute into chaos for BART riders, as authorities shut down the entire system for the second time since May. In a series of social media statements, BART said the computer network issue followed a network upgrade. The agency did not say when the system would be open and urged riders to seek other means of transportation.
Critics have long questioned the 2018 decision, especially in light of the ballooning project cost, which has risen from $4.7 billion in 2014 to $12.75 billion.
