Have you ever made a promise to a child and taken it back? How about 100,000 children? That's exactly what the federal government has done in Queens. They made a promise to fund the new QueensWay, a project to transform 47 forgotten acres-a railway that hasn't been used in 60 years, a public eyesore and dumping ground-into a lush greenway running through the middle of Queens.
The paper has dug into data from across all 32 London boroughs to determine which one really is the 'best'. It handed out points across 37 different categories, which all came under one of four broader categories: great outdoors, good vibes, culture and activities and hospitality. Those more specific metrics included how much green space the area has, how many top-rated restaurants, hotels and music venues it has, and how many heritage sites it possesses.
The city of Lisbon, Portugal, ranked as the happiest destination in the world for travelers, according to a study from BookRetreats, which offers packaged wellness vacations. That was thanks to its more than 2,800 hours of annual sunshine, expansive green spaces, and healthy restaurants throughout. "Walkability is another of Lisbon's mood-boosters," company wrote in its study. "The city is compact and easy to navigate on foot, with panoramic viewpoints that reward slow exploration."
Rodney Johnson, associate pastor at Morning Star, emphasized the project's goal: 'How can we bring the community together? How can the church serve the community beyond the church service?'
