EuroHPC is establishing six new AI factories across Europe to enhance AI capabilities and infrastructure.
Parallel processing is a method of computing that enables the simultaneous execution of multiple tasks by dividing a larger task into smaller, independent parts, allowing multiple processors to work concurrently. This approach significantly reduces the execution time of programs, making it essential for modern high-performance and supercomputing applications.
The partnership will support the development of highly resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) systems, including the UK's e-LORAN project, which uses ground-based radio towers to provide a secure backup to GPS.
Jennifer Doudna, the renowned UC Berkeley professor and 2020 Nobel Prize winner for her groundbreaking gene-editing technology, has now been honored with a supercomputer named after her by Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. This recognition highlights her significant contributions to the field of biotechnology and underscores the impactful advancements arising from CRISPR technology.
