Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City will be released on April 30 for the Meta Quest, Steam VR and Pico, retailing for $25.

With its camera and computer vision processing, the $249 Nex Playground can track up to four players as effectively as Microsoft's old Xbox motion tracker, according to Engadget's Devindra Hardawar. The hardware is cute and well-designed, there are plenty of games, and it works offline. The only issue is the ongoing subscription needed to access most games.

Instead of attempting to make the 3D social platform work for both VR and mobile, Meta is "explicitly separating" its "Quest VR platform from our Worlds platform" and "shifting the focus of Worlds to be almost exclusively mobile," Samantha Ryan, Reality Labs' VP of content, says in a blog post. The new approach sets Meta up to better compete with platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, which also offer user-generated experiences that can be played on your phone.

A handful of Arc Raiders players have reported seeing the silhouette of a large ship in the clouds, but so far, only a Reddit user called Bewarden captured the incident in a video. The ship appears to be massive, but there's no indication yet it's confirmation of aliens in this world.

The VR industry has been on edge since Meta's massive job cuts earlier this year: One exec called the layoff announcements "one of VR's darkest weeks." There's talk of a VR winter, and multiple VR studios have conducted significant layoffs of their own. For Gorilla Tag maker Another Axiom, however, it's monkey - or monke, as they'd say - business as usual.
