A 26-year-old man was shot early Tuesday morning in New Brighton, sustaining a grazed wound to his shoulder. He was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition. Police secured various locations near Jersey Street during the morning rush hour and found a black Nissan sedan with a broken window in the area. Bullet casings were reportedly discovered on Hendricks Avenue. This incident marked the second shooting of the week on Staten Island, following another on Sunday that involved a 21-year-old man shot in the leg near playing grounds.
A 26-year-old man was found shot in New Brighton early on Tuesday morning. Officers responded to the 100 block of Jersey Street at about 1:30 a.m.
The victim was grazed by a bullet in his shoulder and taken in stable condition by EMS to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.
During the Tuesday morning rush hour, police were stationed at multiple locations along and near Jersey Street.
The shooting is the second this week in our borough. On Sunday around 1:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man was found shot on the sidewalk.
