Workaholic Brits are 'giving away' up to 29 billion worth of work a year
Briefly

A recent poll of 2,000 employed adults revealed that many workers do not take their full lunch breaks, often due to work pressure and short break times. The average lunch break is only 39 minutes, with 46% believing they skip breaks because they have too much work. Bakery brand St Pierre has initiated a campaign advocating for better lunch breaks, highlighting the importance of taking time for oneself. The survey also showed a perception that attitudes toward lunch breaks in the UK are less respectful compared to some European countries.
"Lunchbreaks shouldn’t be a luxury and especially not something we feel pressured to forego. We need to remember to take time out for ourselves."
"Nearly half (46 per cent) say this is because they have too much work to do, highlighting the need for better work-life balance in the workplace."
