Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Fox News on Tuesday that he believes 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is the victim of a targeted kidnapping as the search for her continues. In an interview with Fox News' Jonathan Hunt, Nanos revealed no DNA match had been found from a glove retrieved from the crime scene. Guthrie, mother of Today anchor Samantha Guthrie, was reported missing at the beginning of the month.

If the provision passes, it would allow for prosecutions beyond 15 years if investigators are able to determine a DNA match. To ensure that DNA evidence is preserved, the proposal would require all evidence collection kits in cases of sexual assault to be stored for a minimum of 15 years, the release said. France's General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ) has exposed failings in an investigation into Dominique Pelicot, convicted in a high-profile rape case, for not acting on DNA evidence against him for a dozen years, in a report seen by AFP.
