A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run school bus full of students while she was crossing a Brooklyn street Thursday afternoon, according to cops and sources. The female pedestrian was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Bath Avenue in Gravesend just after 3 p.m. when the school bus driver failed to navigate the roadway properly and careened into her, the NYPD said.
The 10,086-square-foot home at 2126 East 4th Street belonged to Eli Gindi, a real-estate developer whose family founded the Century 21 department-store chain. Gindi appears to have unloaded his Beaux-Arts-ish McMansion in an off-market deal to Victor Hakim, the founder and CEO of the Choice Home Warranty firm, according to city records and PincusCo, which first reported the transaction.
A 26-year-old man driving a car drove around another man, who became angry and broke the victim's window with a bike chain. Then, the man used that same bike chain to hit the victim multiple times.
