Dodgers GM Provides Latest Update on Mookie Betts Injury
Briefly

Mookie Betts missed an entire series with the Yankees due to a fractured toe he sustained at home. The Dodgers are monitoring his condition day-to-day, with optimism for a quick return. Betts reported feeling better recently and was able to hit with no issues. The team initially planned for him to play but halted that after Betts experienced pain when putting on his shoes. Current evaluations include potential X-rays, but it's reassuring that the injury is not severe enough to keep him out long-term.
"We need to see the doctors and kind of get a better sense of it," general manager Brandon Gomes said to The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
"He did hit and he wasn't compromised at all swinging the bat," manager Dave Roberts said.
The Dodgers do not expect Betts' injury to keep him sidelined for long but will have the eight-time All-Star undergo X-rays.
Betts has managed to stay off the injured list this season after landing on the IL with a left hand fracture for two months over the summer in 2024.
