The 15-member commission, which was created by the Oregon Legislature, has already awarded $125,000 in community grants to 38 eligible organizations for projects focusing on how the 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 has shaped the state. The funding, which was approved in two rounds, has flowed to both urban and rural parts of Oregon. Now the commission has announced that a third round of grants totaling $50,000 will be available starting on Wednesday, March 4. The maximum grant is $3,000 and no match is required. Fifty percent of the grants will be dedicated to rural communities.
BOROUGH PARK - MAIMONIDES MEDICAL CENTER HAS BEEN AWARDED GRANTS from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. Named for an indefatigable immigrant nun from Italy who helped the needy in Brooklyn and beyond, the Mother Cabrini Foundation recently awarded its 2025 Year-End Grants, including $1.5 million in healthcare workforce funding to enable Maimonides Medical Center to strengthen its Nurse Residency Program and $400,000 in general funding for its Brooklyn Parenting Center.
There are two types of grants that U.S.-based organizations can apply for: Accelerator Grants for those who are already leveraging our AI glasses to scale their impact, and Catalyst Grants for organizations proposing new, high-impact applications using our Device Access Toolkit. We will award 15 Accelerator Grants of $25,000 and 10 of $50,000 USD, depending on the scale of the project. We'll also award five Catalyst Grants of $200,000. In total, we'll grant nearly $2 million to more than 30 organizations and developers.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The International Fact-Checking Network at the nonprofit Poynter Institute has awarded $750,000 grants to 25 fact-checking organizations, providing flexible support to help fact-checking newsrooms keep publishing through a period of rapid funding contraction while they strengthen long-term sustainability. Recipients include organizations working under pressure in and around Belarus and Russia; verification newsrooms navigating economic instability in Venezuela; and teams building verification capacity in places including Nigeria, Kosovo and Iraq.

"This program is bringing about life-changing improvements for Alabamians, particularly those who live in remote areas," ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell said in a press release about the Alabama middle-mile grants.
Without the grant, the organization can't build capacity for more outreach or volunteer support. It also means we may not have the opportunity to expand programming to new schools or youth sites.
"We cannot do it alone," said DVP Chief Holly Joshi, noting that DVP life coaches provide direct case management to people at the highest risk of engaging in gun violence, but that "we need the wraparound support that only community-based organizations can provide."
