Just a few days ago another Czech contract was announced by Skoda, in that case with Dopravní podnik Ostrava (DPO) and for up to 16 new Škoda 26Tr battery trolleybuses. The 18-metre articulated vehicles will feature traction batteries with a range of at least 12 km off the overhead network. The trolleybuses will have two driven axles. Passenger equipment includes full air-conditioning, modern information and ticketing systems, CCTV, double insulation glazing, and a CCS socket for cable charging.
Starting October 29, elevator manufacturer Cibes Kalea Sverige will halt all service and maintenance work at Tesla's facilities under a full blockade ordered by IF Metall. The union's move targets elevator service visits, which are typically required four times a year in Sweden. Cibes Kalea employs around 70 workers across six sites in Sweden and provides both passenger and freight elevator systems to clients, including Tesla, as noted in a report from Dagens Arbete.
Ostrava has long been one of the most progressive cities in the field of urban transport, and we greatly appreciate the continuation of our cooperation. The new 26Tr trolleybuses with battery range will bring greater flexibility, comfort and operational efficiency to both transport operators and passengers,
Transit Signal Priority (TSP) helps buses get through traffic signals more efficiently by holding green lights or shortening red ones when a bus is approaching. Until now, most systems worked best for far-side stops, where buses stop after passing through an intersection. However, many transit agencies prefer near-side stops because they give drivers better visibility and reduce the need for passengers to cross in front of traffic. However, these safer configurations make it harder for signal systems to give the bus priority effectively.1
As could be seen in the video shared by SpaceX, Starship's Super Heavy booster, which is nearly 400 feet tall, smoothly returned to Earth and hovered above the Gulf of America for a few seconds before it went for its soft water landing. The booster's picture-perfect maneuver before splashing down all but capped a near-flawless mission for Starship, which is about to enter its V3 era with Flight 12.
Nearly all new cars in Norway are electric now, so a plan to phase out subsidies is underway. There's now a proposal to phase out a tax exemption for EVs by 2027. The plan is to lower the threshold for eligibility in 2026 before completely removing this benefit the following year. Norway's finance minister argues the country's transition to electric propulsion is pretty much complete and the incentive isn't needed anymore.
45,427 visitors joined Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels (+12% compared to the 40,100 registered at Busworld 2023), representing 101 countries. Today the Busworld organization shared the data outcome of this year edition of the most important bus and coach exhibition worldwide. 559 exhibitors came 40 countries, including 81 bus manufacturers (compared to 66 in 2023) showcasing 209 vehicles inside and 29 outside; a total that would stretch over 3.5 kilometres if lined up. The exhibition covered 82,000 square metres with 6.8 kilometres of corridors.
The new hybrids will help modernize an aging fleet. About 70% of the NYPD's 8,992 vehicles have passed their five-year life cycle. Hybrid vehicles, which typically operate on electricity at lower speeds and gas at higher speeds, make up about half of the NYPD's fleet. The department currently has fewer than 500 fully electric vehicles, mostly limited to school safety and traffic enforcement duties.
Brussels is hosting the Busworld Europe Congress from 6-9 October, bringing together policymakers, operators, manufacturers, and innovators under one roof. The 2025 edition, held alongside Busworld Europe 2025 exhibition, emphasizes the intersection of policy, technology, and market trends shaping the future of buses and coaches in Europe. The Congress is structured around six thematic tracks, covering everything from socio-economic strategies and digital mobility to safety, long-distance coach operations, local and regional transport management, and zero-emission technologies (the latter addressed within the Zero Emission Bus Conference).

Solaris underlines that the "quiet electric drive and stable handling reduce vibrations and noise, ensuring a more pleasant experience for everyone on board. For the driver, this also means less fatigue during long shifts. Its turning circle of less than 17 meters makes everyday maneuvers in heavy traffic much easier, especially on routes with narrow streets and tight intersections". A full range of driver assistance systems supports the driver in daily operation -

Developed over several years, the new coach introduces a redesigned aerodynamic exterior, a new interior concept focused on passenger comfort and ergonomics, and a driver's area with improved sightlines and digital support, as the manufacturer states. Safety systems have been updated to comply with the latest European General Safety Regulation (GSR), while a modular powertrain architecture ensures readiness for future technologies.
Tesla has long been the king of EVs, but its position is slowly eroding as customers are turning to the vastly more diversified portfolios of rival companies. That evolution is clear as day in Europe, where Tesla's reliance on just two aging cars-the Model 3 and Model Y-has caused sales numbers to go down month after month, leaving room for so-called traditional automakers to sweep in.
The company said on Wednesday that it is offering free rides to the public for the initial launch, which will give riders a chance to familiarize themselves with the service and provide feedback. The robotaxi cannot travel anywhere on the Strip. For now, pick-ups and drop-offs are limited to a handful of hotspot destinations, including Resorts World Las Vegas and AREA15. The Zoox app is available to download for all iOS and Android users, but users must be within the geo-fence to order a ride.
CATL, the world's dominant battery maker, just unveiled a new battery technology for the European market that it's calling Shenxing Pro. We don't know which vehicles it'll end up in yet, but CATL says the tech should allow for super long range and wickedly fast charging, all from a battery that won't degrade much over time. We'll have to see this battery in action before we can say whether these claims are all they're cracked up to be.
