The shooting was reported around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 10 at a business in a strip mall in the 3000 block of Story Road near South White Road, according to a San Jose police news release. An investigation determined that the suspect had a brief interaction with a man inside the store before firing at least one round at him then fleeing in a vehicle, police said. The victim was treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive.

GILROY A 17-year-old boy was arrested and a large load of stolen marijuana was recovered following a pursuit from Salinas to Gilroy early Tuesday, authorities said. The episode kicked off around 1:40 a.m. at a cannabis greenhouse on Potter Road in Salinas, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office. A security guard told authorities three to four people were taking bags of marijuana and loading them into two cars.
The report described a clash between male juveniles that led an alleged negligent discharge of a firearm, San Jose police said in a news release Tuesday. Detectives eventually identified a 16-year-old boy as a suspect in the shooting, and learned that the boy was also suspected of shooting off a gun in other instances, including one near a school in Milpitas, police said.

Allegedly, a 16-year-old male suspect was seen pointing a gun and shooting at a vehicle with tinted windows.
SAN PABLO - Two people, one of them a 16-year-old high school student, were arrested Tuesday after gunfire that occurred about a block from an elementary school, police said. The teen that police arrested was a student at Richmond High, according to a statement from police spokesperson Peggy Chou. She added that the other person arrested was 22-year-old man. Officers responded about 9:40 a.m. to the area of 20th Street and Sanford Avenue, near Downer Elementary School.
